Books of inspiration and teaching
Sadhana is spiritual practice. Vedanta has a rich heritage of texts that describe the context of reality and the traditional insights that lead to its realisation. Some of these are further outlined in our Resource Library.
Vedantarama has produced its own books, all written by our teacher, Derek Thorne. These are different in character from traditional texts. In story form they are accessible, inspiring and very human. They speak of realism, spiritual passion and the thrill of exploration, alongside its frustrations, insights, revelations and discoveries. They are honest books describing real world encounters amidst everyday life, along with some intrigue, impact and mystery.
The books tell the story of the seeker. A story you will relate to and be inspired by.
‘Footsteps’ and ‘Timecoast’:
The progressive story of Amelia the seeker in relationship with her teacher Ram. These are passionate and profound novels detailing spiritual exploration, discovery, revelation and change, from first awakenings to Self-realisation.
‘Sphurana’:
An earlier introductory work laying out the principals of awakening and the practice of inner enquiry.
